DRC: The caucus of national deputies from the Grand-Kasaï area presented the challenges plaguing their provinces to Judith Suminwa
Prime Minister Judith Suminwa began discussions this Friday at the government hotel with caucuses of national deputies from various provinces.
Received by the Prime Minister, national deputy Guy Mafuta Kabongo, elected from Kasai and president of the caucus of elected officials from the Grand-Kasaï area, spoke to the press on behalf of his colleagues. He welcomed these discussions, which are taking place a few days before the inauguration of the Suminwa government in the National Assembly
You know, it's the first time we've brought together the presidents of different caucuses. Each of us had the opportunity to provide the Prime Minister with the true information and realities that our province is experiencing. For more than 5 hours, we were able to present the real challenges that we face," he said.
He added, "We informed the Prime Minister about the various problems our provinces are facing. It was important for her to know our issues before starting her duties."
On this occasion, Guy Mafuta urged the new members of the government to work, and especially, he insisted, to go to the grassroots to understand the problems faced by ordinary citizens.
"A minister's place is not just in an air-conditioned office while the population is suffering in misery. They need to take the time to go on the ground instead of going to Europe," concluded the national deputy, a member of the Sacred Union.
